Day of Caring
Day of Caring
Celebrate 22 years of Volunteerism with
United Way of Salt Lake!
September 11th, 2014
Day of Caring engages more than 4,000 volunteers from over 115 local companies. Volunteers spend upwards of 36,000 hours completing more than 100 one-day service projects in Davis, Salt Lake, Summit, and Tooele counties. Volunteer efforts help United Way of Salt Lake advance the education, income, and health of our neighborhoods and communities. Volunteers reach thousands of our most vulnerable citizens and build a stronger community for us all. Last year we saved our community over $615,000! This year, our goal is to have 5,000 volunteers participate!
Overview of Event:
Day of Caring begins at a kick-off breakfast at The Gateway with live entertainment for all sponsors and volunteer participants from 7:30-9:00 a.m. This annual event continues to generate a high level of participation and media exposure. Local television and radio stations cover the morning event and several service projects throughout the day.
Get Your Company Involved:
Conduct a Stuff the Bus Supply Drive
Many children lack the supplies they need to enter the classroom ready to learn. Help United Way of Salt Lake Stuff The Bus with school supplies. You can conduct a supply drive at your workplace, with co-workers, or family and friends. For more information or to sign your workplace up for a supply drive, contact Amy Worthington at email@example.com. Registration will begin in Spring of 2014.
Sign-up for a Company Project
This past year we had over 115 dedicated companies travel to over 82 different service projects at 60 local community partners, schools, and other organizations serving our community. This combined volunteer effort alone saved our community more than $615,000. Your company can be a part of this amazing effort! Sign-ups will begin in Spring 2014.
The Day of Caring is a way your company commits to LIVE UNITED. No matter how much time you can devote to volunteering, every minute counts toward making a positive difference in others lives. We look forward to seeing you there!
