Parley's Park Elementary Community School

Parley’s Park Elementary became a Community School in 2011 with Holy Cross Ministries assisting students who were lagging behind with afterschool programs. The programs focus on academics, physical activity, and arts and crafts.

546 students attend Parley’s Park, with approximately 60 students attending the afterschool programs. The minority population at Parley’s Park is approximately 28 percent, and 75 percent of these students are Hispanic.

Holy Cross Ministries, in conjunction with the People’s Health Clinic, provides medical and dental services for students and families who otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford it. Big Brothers Big Sisters provides mentors for students. New for this school year will be an AmeriCorps member focusing on tutoring students in English language skills, with programming expanded into the school day.
