United Way of Salt Lake Celebrates Volunteerism at the 19th Annual Day of Caring

Salt Lake City – Over 3,000 volunteers from more than 80 companies will help United Way of Salt Lake celebrate service and volunteerism during the 19th Annual Day of Caring.  Volunteers will complete more than 115 one-day service projects throughout Davis, Salt Lake, Summit, and Tooele counties.

7:30 AM - 9:00 AM  Kick off breakfast

9:00 AM - 5:00 PM  Community service projects

11:00 AM - 1:00 PM Stuff the Bus: general public is invited to help fill 5,000 backpacks with school supplies for low-income kids.  Public project will take place in the outside the Grand Hall at the Gateway.



More than 3,000 volunteers from 83 companies will participate in over 115 service projects throughout the day.  Projects range from landscaping and painting, to reading with kids, and hosting a career fair for parents and students.  More than 80 community partners, schools, and other organizations in Davis, Salt Lake, Summit, and Tooele Counties are working together with United Way of Salt Lake on this huge volunteer effort.


On-site after-hours dental care now in 13 Title I schools in Utah
December 18, 2014 Author: KUER 13 Title-I schools in Salt Lake are now providing on-site after-hours dental clinics thanks to a complex partnership of 11 groups including United Way of Salt Lake and Intermountain Healthcare.

School year ends but reading effort continues
July 23, 2014 Author: Nadine Wimmer Teachers at Roosevelt Elementary told students if they would work hard to meet their reading goals, the school would petition for a helicopter visit.

School Supplies Needed
June 13, 2014 Author: by Tom Busselberg School may be out for most students, but there will be those pencils, pens, notebooks, and more that are needed when classes resume in the fall. That’s why United Way of Salt Lake, which includes Davis County, is seeking school supplies for those in need.
