Good planning is vital to the success of your workplace year-round engagement strategy. A well-planned year-round engagement strategy will ensure efficient use of your time and maximize the interest of your employees. This fact sheet suggests a timeline you can use to map out your road to success. Your United Way Community Investment Advisor will work with you to customize your timeline so your company and its employees can give, advocate, volunteer, and show what it means to Live United!
Leadership giving (gifts of $1,000+ annually) is a proven strategy to enhance your workplace compaign results. Leadership donors lay the foundation for United Way to improve lives and build strong communities.
GOALS AND INCENTIVES:
Goals help employees feel like a team and highlight the power of their collective efforts. Most importantly, goals dramatically increase your campaign's success. Incentives are a powerful tool to encourage attendance at employee educational meetings, increase participation, and ensure pledging.
SPECIAL EVENT AND THEME IDEAS:
While the emphasis of your campaign should be on engagement, education, and giving through payroll deducation, many companies incorporate extra events into their campaign to increase participation and excitement.
Online pledging allows employees to have an easy pledging experience and you will benefit from real time results. While online pledging provides an easy and effective way for employees to donate, remember, it does not replace best campaign practices!
SITE VISITS AND VOLUNTEERISM:
Site visits and volunteer opportunities are an important and educational part of you workplace campaign. Your United Way Community Investment Advisor can help schedule site visits and establish one-time or ongoing volunteer opportunities that will motivate employees to give and get involved.
