Kearns Junior High

Kearns Junior High Community School, a United Way Neighborhood Center, works with its partners to achieve student, family, and community success. Kearns Jr. High employs a variety of strategies designed for student success. Students attend tutor labs before and after school. A mobile medical clinic also provides services for families without access to healthcare. The afterschool program provides a variety of opportunities for students. In the first hour of the program, the students participate in “homework hour,” where students receive tutoring help. The subsequent two hours are filled with activities such as sports, arts & crafts, field trips, and cooking. Additionally, the Community School also provides services such as English classes for Spanish speakers, computer classes, and GED and English literacy for parents.
