Become a Partner / Apply for a Grant

United Way of Salt Lake works with numerous partners to accomplish its goals in the community – and in many cases those partnerships involve grant funding to eligible organizations.  Funded partnerships fall into the categories of Collective Impact Partnerships and Basic Needs Partnerships – details about specific grants within these categories, including timelines, application processes and contact information can be found below:

Collective Impact Partnerships

UWSL's collective impact partnerships are working to "change the odds" for all children and families in specific neighborhoods and communities by focusing on shared, measurable objectives that create a pipeline or continuum of support from cradle to career with a focus on education, financial stability, and health.

See Cradle to Career Pipeline HERE.

These partnerships work closely with UWSL and each other to share and use data for "rapid-time" (sometimes called “real-time”) intervention, to align programs and strategies using data to drive innovation, and to share accountability for results.  To learn more about collective impact, please read the Stanford Social Innovation ReviewJanuary 2011 article by Mark Kramer and John Kania on the topic.

Lead Partners
Lead partners work closely with UWSL to provide "backbone" support and the coordination of collective impact partnerships within specific neighborhoods and communities.   As resources for new collective impact partnerships become available, UWSL will announce the availability of funds on this web page and will seek letters of intent from potential partners within the targeted neighborhood or community. Please contact Linda Turkington for more information.

Strategy Partners
Strategy partners are issue-focused, and often work in many neighborhoods and communities. They add additional support, services, and programs in the areas of education, financial stability, health, and integration.  As resources for new collective impact partnerships become available, UWSL will announce the availability of funds on this web page and will seek letters of intent from potential partners within the targeted neighborhood or community. Please contact Linda Turkington for more information.
