In the fall of 2010, two parents in the DCLC’s English as a second language class were discouraged and depressed about not being able to afford hearing aids for their son because of prohibitive cost, which was over $500.  The parents were able to use the DCLC by speaking with two parent consultants who were able to work on their behalf.  Within a day, the family went back to the DCLC to find that a local organization the Community Center worked with donated the cost of the hearing aids.   This is one of the many ways that the DCLC can help families in need in the Clearfield community.
