Policy and funding decisions at every level of government have an impact on the ability of communities - and specifically United Way, to meet needs and solve problems. Informing and being part of that decision-making process is critical to maintaining the success of current initiatives and partnerships.
United Way of Salt Lake is involved in public policy efforts related to human service and health needs. Priorities identified by the United Way Executive Director's Association (UWEDA) and by United Way of America are presented to the Public Policy Committee, the Executive Committe, and the full Board for their recommendation and action. Priorities set by the Board are acted on through letters and direct communication.
