Chairman of the Board, United Way of Salt Lake
President, Love Communications
Definitely "hands on" when it comes to nearly every major Love Communications account, Tom is particularly involved with developing long-term strategies, media and promotional partnerships for clients, as well as growing new business for the organization overall. An adept and skillful leader, Tom also oversees Love Communications' administrative side, and his motivational style guarantees an atmosphere of creativity, productivity, and collaboration.
One of Love Communication's founding parterns, Tom's background was in television sales - for more than a decade, he was General Sales Manager of KTVX-Channel 4 in Utah (the ABC affiliate). He brought those contacts, associations, and his own charismatic approach and dynamic personality to Love Communications, giving the agency unparalleled success in creating "win-win" business relationships for its entire client base.
Love Communications has been honored several times by the business community: Salt Lake Chamber "Small Business of the Year" in 2003; United Way of Salt Lake "Outstanding Partner for Community Change" in 2006; and one of Utah Business' "Best Companies to Work For" in 2006.
Prior to his Channel 4 career, Tom worked in sales for AT&T and KUTV-Channel 2 (CBS affiliate), as well as TCI Cablevision. He was also president of the Utah Advertising Federation (in 1993) and held a national post on the ABC Television Network Sales Advisory Board, representing the eight-state Intermountain Region.
As the primary "face" of Love Communications, Tom remains highly visible and involved in the community. He currently serves as Chair of the Board of Directors for United Way of Salt Lake. Tom has also formerly served on the boards of the Pioneer Theater Company, the Alta Club, the Utah Heart Association, and the Cottonwood Country Club. Married with two children, Tom attended both Pomona College and the University of Utah, receiving a bachelor's degree in Political Science. In 2002, the Utah Advertising Federation selected Tom as its Professional of the Year.
